4th Annual Pillars Scholarship

Applications for the Alburnett Community School District Foundation Annual Pillars Scholarship will be available at the school starting in January. See Mr. Stewart, Mrs. Wander or Ms. Frank for a copy of the application and eligibility criteria.

(6) $500 Pillars scholarships will be awarded at the conclusion of the 2009-2010 academic year.

The Pillars Scholarship program seeks to award well-rounded and involved graduating Alburnett High School seniors who excel in the areas of academics, fine arts and athletics. The Foundation truly believes that the best student is a well-rounded student, and seeks to encourage future alumni to have a connection to the school and the community and to have an opportunity to give back to it in the future.

This scholarship program has four objectives: 1) To reward students for their excellence in these three pillar areas where they have demonstrated talent, effort and leadership as well as citizenship, 2) To introduce students to a personal interview situation similar to those they will face in collegiate and employment scenarios, 3) To show the Foundations financial commitment to several core areas of school involvement, and 4) To emphasize and promote continuation of post-secondary education.

Applications must be completed and all necessary submissions turned in by April 1, 2010 to be considered. Results will be announced and certificates awarded on Senior Awards night.

Please contact Mike Olinger at 350-2512 if you have any questions.
